Surfacex uses a variety of materials in order to offer a range of attractive, solid and durable floor coatings. Now that we’ve covered epoxy, let’s take a look at polyurea.

What is Polyurea?

Although you may not know it, polyurea is found in items we use every day. It is a modern, safe plastic that was developed in the 1930s, and is most commonly applied as a foam, although it comes in many other forms as well. Polyurea has many different uses, including in roof insulation and shoe materials and as a replacement for rubber in cars.

Main Benefits of Polyurea Floor Coating

At Surfacex, we appreciate the resistance, flexibility, robustness and affordable cost of this product. It is also chemical and weather resistant. This means that a polyurea coating lasts a long time—25 years, on average!

Polyurea can be combined with other materials to alter their form and texture for a variety of uses. For example, used tires can be mixed with polyurea and transformed into a different material used to coat sports tracks or children’s playgrounds.

At Surfacex, polyurea is applied as a floor coating in commercial, industrial, institutional and residential spaces, including for factory, laboratory, kitchen and garage floors.
